John Hellström won three awards in the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) print competition in Las Vegas, including a prestigious third place and a gold award in the Wedding - Bridal Party / Family and Friends category and a silver award in the wedding photojournalistic category. This annual competition is the most prestigious competition in the world among professional portrait and wedding photographers around the world, and is by many professional photographers named the "unofficial world championships". The photograph above was evaluated by a judge to be "The avant garde" photograph, and is named "Close Encounter of the Wedding Kind".
